Automated call-tree software

Turn a calling list into an active response workflow

StrikeGrid executes a prepared response plan: it calls the people assigned to each tier, records whether they acknowledge and advances when the configured response condition is not met.

Who it is for

Operations, facilities, service continuity and incident teams use call trees when a named person must take responsibility—not merely receive a broadcast. StrikeGrid is suited to teams with multiple sites, out-of-hours duties or a response path that should not depend on one coordinator repeatedly dialling numbers.

How an automated call tree works

An administrator prepares contacts, response teams, ordered tiers and a timeout for each tier. An authorised user activates the plan from the dashboard. StrikeGrid places outbound calls, accepts keypad acknowledgement, provides SMS and email fallback, and moves forward when the plan requires further escalation.

Acknowledged responders can be brought into a shared conference. The command view records attempts and status changes so the incident lead can see the current state without reconstructing it from personal call logs.

  • Prepare and review the response plan before an incident
  • Assign primary and fallback responders
  • Set tier timeouts that match the operational scenario
  • Test contact details and responsibilities
  • Review the timeline after each activation

Automation is different from a static phone tree

A static phone tree documents who should call whom. Execution still relies on each person answering, remembering the next step and reporting the outcome. Automated execution makes the prepared sequence and timeout behaviour consistent while leaving operational decisions with the response team.

Implementation questions

Start with one high-value scenario and define what acknowledgement means. Decide who may activate the plan, which roles must be represented, how long each tier should have, and which people should receive status updates without joining the response.

Ask a supplier how unavailable responders are handled, whether contact attempts are visible while the incident is active, how the response record is retained, and how plan changes are controlled.
