Designed for acknowledgement, not delivery alone
A delivered message does not prove that somebody has accepted responsibility. StrikeGrid tracks acknowledgement and uses the response plan to determine whether another tier must be contacted. This makes the operational state clearer to the incident lead.
A practical workflow
For an out-of-hours equipment failure, the first tier might contain the duty engineer and site lead. If the response condition is not met within the configured timeout, the next tier can include the regional manager and specialist contractor contact. Acknowledged responders can then coordinate in a shared conference while the activation view shows the developing timeline.
- Define the incident and select a prepared plan
- Call the current response tier
- Capture keypad or link acknowledgement
- Advance according to configured timeout rules
- Coordinate responders and close with resolution notes
Governance and implementation
Escalation design should follow real authority and availability, not an idealised organisation chart. Assign plan ownership, review contacts regularly and test the workflow in a controlled exercise. Keep alternative procedures for telecommunications or platform disruption.
Buyer questions should cover permissions, data location, contact verification, auditability, pricing and how administrators prevent accidental activation. No software removes the need for trained people, sound judgement and documented fallback arrangements.
